abstract = "This article aims to explore a spatial methodology for production
of suitability maps based on transformation and operation fuzzy
techniques. The article shows how to transform the original values
of the input variables into fuzzy information appropriate to be
used for fuzzy operations. The gamma fuzzy operation is used to
implement the spatial modeling which allows obtaining different
resulting scenarios depending on the chosen gamma factor value. A
case study is presented where suitability maps are created from
sample points representing elevation values and clay soil
contents, or percentages. Predictions using geostatistical
methods, kriging and simulation, are applied to the samples to
create maps of elevations and clay soil contents. The elevation
map is used to automatically derive the slope map of the
geographic region of interest. General linear transformations are
applied to the maps of slope and clay soil contents to obtain the
fuzzy information used as input for the gamma fuzzy function. The
resulting scenarios are presented and analyzed in accordance with
the risks that decision-makers are willing to accept for a
                         considered spatial application.",
